A Prayer for Healing
Illness narrows life down to small rooms and long nights. This prayer is for anyone asking God for healing — and anyone praying it on someone else's behalf.
Lord, You are the God who heals. I ask plainly: bring healing — to this body, through medicine, through rest, through Your quiet mending. And until it comes, hold on to me. Amen.
A fuller prayer
Father, You made this body and You love the person inside it. I ask for healing — real, physical healing — and I refuse to be embarrassed about asking, because Your Son never once turned away a person who asked. Work through the doctors and their medicine; work in the places medicine can't reach. Give strength for the treatments, patience for the slow days, and hope that doesn't depend on the next set of results. If healing comes slowly, keep us faithful. Hold this body, and hold the heart inside it. In Jesus' name, Amen.
Scripture to hold on to
“Is any one of you sick? He should call the elders of the church to pray over him... And the prayer offered in faith will restore the one who is sick.”
JAMES 5:14–15 · BSB
“Bless the LORD, O my soul, and do not forget all His kind deeds — He who forgives all your iniquities and heals all your diseases.”
PSALM 103:2–3 · BSB
“Heal me, O LORD, and I will be healed; save me, and I will be saved, for You are my praise.”
JEREMIAH 17:14 · BSB
How to pray this
Pray for healing and take the medicine — scripture never treats those as rivals. If you're praying for someone else, tell them you did. 'I prayed for you this morning' is medicine of its own kind.
Don’t carry this alone
The chain is small and forming — which means your request won't be lost in a crowd. Real people will pray this with you, for your situation, by name — and you’ll see each one happen.

Common questions
Does God still heal today?
Christians across every tradition testify that He does — through medicine, through time, and sometimes in ways no chart explains. What scripture promises without exception is His presence in the illness.
What if I've prayed and nothing has changed?
Keep asking — Jesus told a parable precisely so that we 'should always pray and not lose heart' (Luke 18:1). Unanswered-so-far is not unheard.
How do I ask others to pray for my illness?
Share what you're comfortable sharing; specifics help people pray specifically. You can ask the chain and real people will pray for you by name.
