Privacy Policy
Draft — under legal review. Effective date and governing details will be finalized before public launch. Written to be read by humans.
What we collect
Your email address (it’s how you sign in — we have no passwords), your name (shown publicly only as first name and last initial), your state if you share it, an optional mobile number, your prayer requests and the notes and updates you write, your prayer-list items, records of prayers you confirm, and — if you purchase anything — payment records processed by Stripe. We never see or store full card numbers.
Text messages (optional)
If you give us your mobile number and tick the consent box, we may text you about your own prayers — like “someone just prayed for you.” Never marketing blasts, never on a pre-ticked box, and we keep a record of the exact consent wording you agreed to. Reply STOP to any message, untick the box in Settings, or clear your number — each stops texting immediately. Message and data rates may apply.
What other people see
Members your request is shared with see your first name, last initial, state, and the request text — or nothing identifying at all if you choose anonymous. Shareable links, if you create one, show the same. Your email address is never shown to anyone. Your full name is never requested or displayed.
What we do with it
Run the service: deliver requests to members, count confirmed prayers, send the emails you signed up for, prevent abuse, and meet legal obligations. Aggregate counts (like “prayers confirmed this week”) are computed from real records.
What we never do
We never sell your information. We never share your requests outside the chain mechanics you chose. We never use the content of your prayers for advertising. We never email you commercially on Sundays, and every email has a one-tap unsubscribe that works instantly.
Who processes data for us
Supabase (database and sign-in), Vercel (hosting), Resend (email delivery), Stripe (payments), and an AI screening step that checks requests for safety before they are shared — its output is used only for moderation.
Crisis content
If a request suggests you may be in danger, a member of our team reads it personally so we can respond with care. That review exists to protect you, not to judge you.
Your choices
You can unsubscribe from any email stream in one tap, delete prayer-list items, and ask us to delete your account and its content by contacting us. Deleting your account removes your requests from view; anonymized ledger records may be retained where the law requires financial records to be kept.
Children
Gathered is for adults 18 and over. Requests about children, written by the adults who love them, are welcome; accounts for children are not permitted.
